2nd Session: March 1 - April 12, 2012. PRINTMAKING!
All classes are $120  per six-week session or $20 per class. Make-up classes are scheduled on April 19,  and are $20 per student.
Due to Spring Break, classes will be cancelled on April 5, 2012.
Portraits and Printmaking! (Grades K - 5): Thursdays, 10:00 - 12:00. Students will learn how to draw
frontal portraiture, side portraiture and caricatures and combine this with several different printmaking
techniques including screen printing on T-shirts, styrofoam block printing, monotypes, and monoprints in
order to create a wide variety of amazing portrait prints!

Screen printing and Linoleum Block Printing(Grades 6-12): Thursdays, 1:00 - 3:00.  Students will
explore several different fun printmaking techniques in which students will explore screen printing on
T-shirts as well linoleum block printing as well. By creating a stencil with drawing fluid and screen filler, and
by carving into a linoleum block, students will learn some basics of screen printing and block printing.

All six-week home school classes are $120 per session or $20 per two hour class and are taught by Richmond Smith . For families
with more than one child, the first child is full-price, the second child is 20% off the full-price.
1st Session: January 12 - February 16, 2012. DRAWING AND PAINTING!
All classes are $120  per six-week session or $20 per class.  Make- up classes are scheduled on February 23, 2011 and are $20
per student.

Art FUNdamentals!(Grades K - 5) Thursdays, 10:00 - 12:00.   In this drawing and painting class,
students explore the theory and practice of making art by learning about master techniques of pointillism by
Georges Seurat, expressionism by Van Gogh, and surrealism by Dali and become better artists by
studying and creating artwork in similar styles to these great artists.

Beginning Acrylic Painting (Grades 6 -12) Thursdays, 1:00 - 3:00.By looking at a photograph,
students will learn how to draw and paint from a photograph in order to create their own painting on
canvas. Students will learn to become better at drawing and color theory through this step by step painting
class. Students are asked to bring in a photograph that they would like to recreate into a beautiful painting!
3rd Session: April 26 - May 31, 2012. SCULPTURE AND FUNCTIONAL ART!
All classes are $120  per six-week session or $20 per class. Make-up classes are scheduled on June 7,  and are $20 per
student.

Ceramic Animal or Creature Sculpture (Grades K-5): Thursdays, 10:00 - 12:00.  Using hand
building techniques of slab, pinch, coil, and other sculptural techniques, students will be able to create
their own animal or imaginative creature out of clay. Not only will students learn some different techniques
and how to create in 3D sculpture, it will be so much fun working with clay!

FUNctional Art (Grades 6 -12): Thursdays, 1:00 - 3:00. Students will create wonderful works of art that
have a specific function! We will be making paintings that turn into clocks, sculptural faces turned into
ceramic mugs, and paintings turned into ceramic sun dials. These will be artwork that will stay around for
a long time, because they have a specific function!
