Richmond Smith - art teacher / painter/ sculptor.
Richmond has been teaching private art classes out of his studio since August
of 2006. He currently also teaches art classes to adults at Blue Ridge
Community College and adults with disabilities at Open Hearts Art Center.
Prior to starting Richmond's Studio in 2006, he taught in public school since
2003 at various grade levels including the Literacy through the Arts Program
from the Asheville Art Museum, at Westview Middle School in Goose Creek,
SC., and most recently teaching grades 1 -8 at Rainbow Mountain Children's
School. He holds a B.F.A in Studio Art (painting, sculpture) from Western
Carolina University and an art education degree from University of North
Carolina at Asheville. When he is not teaching art classes or teaching tennis
lessons, he is busy creating his own visionary, textured oil and mixed-media
paintings and sculpture.

James Cassara - Art instructor / Painter/ Printmaker
James Cassara is a well established arts educator and artist in the Asheville Area.
He has taught with Asheville City Schools, primarily at Claxton Elementary, for
more than 22 years. In all he has 27 years of teaching experience. James holds a
B.A. in art (as well as art certification) from UNC Asheville, where he also
completed the Masters of Liberal Arts (MLA) program. In addition he is a
Nationally Board Certified Teacher in the area of early and middle childhood art.
While teaching is “his first love and true passion” he continues to produce his own
work, primarily painting and print making, feeling it essential that all arts
educators remain active artists.

Will Dickert - art teacher / ceramic artist
Will holds a BA in Ceramics from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
He is a licensed K-12 Art teacher in the state of North Carolina. In addition to
running his business, Will Dickert Ceramics, most recently Dickert has been a
ceramics instructor in the continuing education department at Blue Ridge
Community College, as well as the assistant director of pottery at Rockbrook
Camp for Girls, a substitute teacher for Asheville City Schools, After School Arts
pottery instructor (Claxton Elementary School) and lifelong "summer- camper,"
Dickert is dedicated and inspired to enrich lives through the arts. His artwork
reflects energy and enthusiasm for the endless learning process that a life, and

Madison J. Cripps - Art Instructor / Puppeteer
Madison J. Cripps is an eclectic artist/puppeteer. His interdisciplinary education
brings together drawing, painting, sculpture, ecology, music, and performance.
Since finding puppetry as the one medium which allows his diverse background to
flourish, he has plunged deep into this fantastical world. Madison has performed
from Canada to Mexico inspiring a smile everywhere he goes. He brings his unique
hand carved marionettes to life with his witty improvisational and interactive
performance. He sings, the puppets dance. Madison now lives in Asheville, NC with
his puppets, where he performs on the street, with Asheville Vaudeville, with the
Hellblinki & Cripps Puppet Spectacular and in the Royal Peasantry Side Show.
Madison has taught workshops on bookbinding, and puppet making. Check out
